The Dragonlance Chronicles was, in my opinion, a very interesting and involved series. It
was also my introduction into the world of fantasy books.
The first book of the chronicles Dragons of Autumn Twilight starts off the series.
In my opinion, it was the best of the series. It was exciting, with an occaisional
bit of humor thrown in to give the book a slightly more lighthearted feel than the ones
that came later. The characters are introduced, and it became apparent to me that they
felt like three-dimensional, real people.
The second book, Dragons of Winter Night picks up where the first book left off.
In this book, the heroes get separated and scattered around the continent. This book
has a decidedly grimmer feel to it than the first. New characters are introduced, and
more background information of some of the old characters is introduced.
Dragons of Spring Dawning is the last book in the chronicles. This book, while
of a slightly lighter nature than the second, still has the same grim feel. The heroes
are united once again, and make their way to Neraka to fight the battle with the dark
queen. This book came to a temporarily satisfying conclusion, while hinting at greater
battles ahead.
